STORY BEHIND KC
I am Vrushali Wadnerkar Mishra, founder of the “Karuvaki Creations”. Ever since I was a small child, I have always been fascinated with handmade and handcrafted products. This unrecognized love eventually led me to start my entrepreneurial adventure. Although I have an engineering degree, I am more inclined towards Indian handicrafts and culture. After more than 10 years of successfully working in the industry, I decided to follow my dreams and my roller coaster ride began. I believe that through my craft I can tell stories inspired by our rich heritage and nature. “Karuvaki Creations“ was born out of pure love for handicrafts and the urge to educate and support women artisans. My handmade jewellery and crafts represent the class that likes to choose unique things to differentiate themselves from others. Karuvaki is the name of the tribal princess of Kalinga (Odisha) and wife of King Ashoka. She was bold, fearless and represents the tribal culture of India. I came across this unique name which resembles my craft’s quality.
